Overview
Avarts is a Strava data analysis app. This policy explains what data Avarts collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.
Data Collected
When you connect your Strava account, Avarts accesses and stores the following data provided by Strava:
- Athlete ID, first name, last name, and profile picture
- Activity data (runs, rides, swims, and other recorded activities)
- Activity metrics (distance, pace, elevation, heart rate, etc.)
- Unit preference (imperial or metric)
Avarts does not collect your location in real time, and does not access data beyond what is necessary to provide its features.
How Data Is Used
- To display and analyze your Strava activities
- To generate statistics, insights, and visualizations
- To save your preferences (e.g., unit system)
Avarts does not sell your data and does not use it for advertising.
Third-Party Services
Avarts integrates with the following third-party services:
- Strava — activity and athlete data via the Strava API. Subject to Strava's Privacy Policy.
- OpenAI — used to generate AI-powered activity analysis. Activity data is sent to OpenAI for this purpose.
- Vercel — hosting and platform analytics.
- Neon — managed PostgreSQL database used to store your account and activity data.
- PostHog — product analytics and feature flags (anonymized usage events).
- Google Analytics — aggregated traffic and usage analytics.
- Sentry — error monitoring and crash reporting to help diagnose issues.
Data Retention
Data is stored as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Upon deletion, all stored data is permanently removed.
Your Rights
- You can disconnect Strava access at any time via Strava settings
- You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app
- You can contact Avarts or email [email protected] to request a copy of your data
